Your data rights
How to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted.
Version 2026-01 — effective 1 January 2026
Getting a copy
From your account settings, request an export. We will put together everything we hold about you and send you a private download link. We aim to do this within 30 days, usually sooner.
The export link expires after 72 hours, because a permanent link to a file containing all of your data is a permanent risk.
Correcting something
Most things you can edit yourself. For anything you cannot — a review someone else wrote about you, or a record on a completed job — write to privacy@rentrepairs.co.ke and say what is wrong.
Deleting your account
Request deletion from your account settings. We will remove your profile, your properties or coverage, your messages and your verification documents.
Some records survive, and we will tell you which. A completed job and the review that came out of it are also the other party's record — deleting them would rewrite someone else's history. Those are anonymised rather than removed: your name comes off, the fact of the job does not.
Records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons are also retained, for as long as that requirement lasts and no longer.
Objecting or complaining
You can object to how we use your data by writing to us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
