Terms of use
What RentRepairs does, what it does not do, and what you agree to by using it.
Version 2026-01 — effective 1 January 2026
What RentRepairs is
RentRepairs is an introduction service. We connect people who own or manage rental property with people who repair it, and we keep a record of what was agreed.
We are not a party to the agreement between you and the person on the other side of it. When a landlord accepts a provider, the contract for that work is between those two people. RentRepairs is not the contractor, the employer, or the guarantor of anyone.
Payment for work
No payment for a job is made through this platform. The client and the provider agree the rate between themselves and settle it directly. RentRepairs does not collect, hold, transmit or refund money for work done, and takes no commission or percentage of it.
Any figure shown on the platform — a budget band on a request, an indicative rate on a response, or an agreed amount recorded on a job — is a note between the two parties. It is not a quote we enforce, an invoice, or a payment instruction.
Whether work has been done to a satisfactory standard is likewise between the client and the provider. RentRepairs has no say in the terms of service delivery and cannot withhold, release or reverse a payment, because it never holds one.
The only payment RentRepairs takes is a service provider's own optional subscription, which is a separate agreement between that provider and us.
Your account
You must verify your email address and your phone number before you can post a job or respond to one. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
A landlord may give a co-landlord or a caretaker access to a property. What that person may do is set by the landlord, per property, and the landlord remains responsible for what is done under that access.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into a contract.
What we expect of you
Describe work honestly, whether you are asking for it or offering to do it.
- Do not misrepresent your identity, qualifications or licences.
- Do not use the platform to harass, threaten or defraud anyone.
- Do not post reviews for work that did not happen, or pay anyone for a review.
- Hold the licences and insurance your trade requires in Kenya.
We may warn, restrict, suspend or ban an account for conduct. We record a reason every time we do.
Reviews
A review can only be left on a job that both parties confirmed was completed. Reviews may be edited for seven days and are then frozen. The provider reviewed may reply once.
We remove reviews only for abuse, personal data, content about the wrong provider, provably false claims, or reviews that were incentivised. A negative review is not, by itself, grounds for removal.
Verification and the Verified badge
Verification means we have checked a document a provider gave us and it appeared genuine. It is not a guarantee of the quality of anyone's work, an endorsement, or a warranty.
The badge cannot be purchased on any plan. It may be withdrawn if the criteria stop being met.
Liability
Because we are an introduction service and not a party to your agreement, we are not liable for the work itself, for loss or damage caused by a provider, for a client who does not pay, or for any dispute about price or quality between you.
We are liable for our own service — for keeping your data safely and running the platform with reasonable care. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Kenyan law.
Changes
We will tell you before these terms change in a way that affects you, and you will be asked to accept the new version. The version you accepted is recorded on your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction.
